Intl. Art Festival of Resistance 2017 comes to an end

The Fourth International Art Festival of Resistance has wrapped up during an award ceremony in the capital city of Tehran.

The closing ceremony which saw the announcement of winners in different categories was held at Saba Art and Cultural Institute on Saturday January 7. 

Executive director of the festival Mohammad Habibi and Iranian Artists Forum Director Majid Rajabi-Memar along with a number of artists took part at the gala.

The participated works including painting, poster, sculpture, cartoon and caricature have been selected from over 70 countries.

The first place award in the sculpture section conferred to Mohammad-Taqi Sedaqati and Arash Forughi nabbed the first prize in the caricature section.

In the cartoon section, the first award went to Mahbubeh Pakdel and Hadi Qaderi took the first award in the poster section.

Made by sculptor Nader Qashqai, the bust of Sheikh Nimr al-Nimr, a renowned Shia cleric who was executed by Saudi Arabia on January 2, 2016 was unveiled at the ceremony.

The Fourth International Art Festival of Resistance was held from December 10 through January 7.
